gram bag of fuggles, one 12 gram bag of
goldings and Safale yeast with the aim
of making a Kilkenny style. One week
primary at around 20 degrees Celsius.
Very bitter from the hops after 2 weeks
in the bottle. Really started hitting
its straps after 4 weeks. It didnt last
much longer after that so I can only
imagine how good this brew can get!
Beautiful brown colour with a hint red.
Creamy head stayed all the way down to
the bottom my pint glass, clinging to
the sides with every sip. If you like
English bitters give this one a shot,
you wont be disappointed! – Rating:5/5

Brewed exactly to recipee instructions.
Couldn’t wait to open my first brew
today and my wife and I were both
pleasantly surprised at how well it
turned out. Maybee I figured the S.G.
incorectly cause I figured around 4% ABV
and I can tell you it seems to be much
stronger than that! Fermented at about
72 degrees. Great copper color with a
nice creamy head which laces nicely down
the entire glass. A bit more of a malty
flavor than I’m used to in a true IPA.
If I brewed it again I would probably ad
some cascade hops during the initial
boil or to second ferment. All in all a
very good first brew for the beginner
and something to work off of.
– Rating:4/5
by using only dextrose except brewed
with an extra 500g (total 1.5kg) becuase
I had it left over from another brew.
The result? Well far too much of a
fruity/fruit juice type taste to it.
Not sure how to explain it beyond that.
It was overpowering to begin with and
hasn’t dissapeared as much as I was
hoping. Next to no bitterness either,
and a mouthfeel I would compare to
water, which is to the style I assume.
Quite dissapointed with it and if i was
going to brew it again (not anytime
soon) I would do a complete overhaul
with added hops/yeast/ sugars etc.
